one. action.
[ Sometime in the evening - after the sun has gone down - there is a girl floating above the fountain. Just chilling out in mid air, one leg crossed over the over as she cradles what looks like, from a distance, an axe.
And she's playing it?
Ah. Those are strings. This is a bass axe. And Marceline is strumming it as she hovers over the water, singing softly to herself and occasionally twisting and moving in the air to the imagined beat of her song. ]
Gonna go on out there
Find out who brought me here and
Make them see
This just isn't the place for me
Gonna make them regret
... man, that totally sucks.
[ She stops playing to tune her bass instead, floating down to the ground so she can sit on the edge of the fountain instead. She keeps talking, but it's definitely not to any curious passerby. ]
Glad I found you, baby. Dad would be pre-tty mad if I lost you. Not that he's here. Whatever. [ Shrugs and keeps working.
Depending on who approaches her, she will do one of two things:
A) greet them casually.
B)
Pick your poison! ]

She seems new - so he greets her with a friendly smile.]
Hello-!

Immediate recoil.]
AUGH!
no subject
Hey?
[That's pretty cool.]
no subject
Your face! Oh man. That was priceless.
[ She floats down to him, one hand holding her bass and the other cupping her chin. ]
Sup, little dude?
no subject
You, like, need something?
A; cause I had to
His walk however is met with music. Stopping, he turns to the floating girl and-wait, floating. And when she talks he's not sure if she's talking to herself or him...well...couldn't hurt? ]
Er, hey there?
no subject
[ Snappish. Then she peers at him. Looks at his shirt, then back up at his face and raises an eyebrow. ]
Well?
no subject
If you didn't want someone talking to you maybe you should keep it in your head.
no subject
[ She floats up higher, continuing to give him a disapproving stare. ]
Just who do you think you are?
no subject
[And he'll just look up at her with huffed cheeks.]
Name's Cross Blanchard. What about you?
no subject
[Might as well check if it was the wings or not. He'd like to float, after all]
no subject
N-nothing really. I was just walking around, and, uh... [He rubs at his head. How does he talk to someone who just freaked him out and then casually greeted him?] My name's Aang!

But when Marceline suddenly pulls that face, Pilouette lets out a high-pitched, squeaky scream and jumps, dropping her bag.]
EEEEK!!

[ She shrieks and falls back, right onto her butt on the ground. But she's already scrambling to get up a moment later and so she manages, only to run and hide behind a tree to the side of the plaza. Not that she's subtly hiding, she's clearly still here, but she just looks frightened as she's shaking.. ]

[ Marceline floats over to her, head down and feet up in the air, and tucks her bass behind her back so she can fold her arms under her chin and inspect the little duckling. She holds out her hands, like she expects Duck to hop up on them. ]
Cool trick. Can you do that whenever you want?
no subject
[ Marceline just sort of. Ignores her, and goes back to singing and playing music. Though if the girl doesn't return, she'll eventually call out with a: ]
Hey. You.
no subject
Meh. That's getting kind of old.
[ She goes back to strumming her guitar. ]
Hasn't anybody here ever seen a vampire before?
no subject
[ She cradles her bass again and starts to strum. ] ... I guess I could understand if you just couldn't get enough of these cool beats. They are pretty sick.

[Because clearly this is a priority.]
As for your music...hmmm, well, it's pretty good. At least from the snippet I heard.

Taking a moment to transform back into her human shape she steps out from the shadows. Whoever she was, she didn't smell human so...hopefully she won't freak out at her.]
Hey! Those are some pretty sweet tunes.
no subject
U-Um, well, I've never met like, a vampire before. I wasn't scared or whatever. You just kind of um, surprised me, I guess?
[She fails miserably at being cool.]

Once she's done scurrying about and realizes that this floating girl isn't about to scare her again, she tentative hops into her hands and nods to the fountain. PUT HER THERE. ] Quack?
sweet. you get A!
[ Maceline turns gently in the air, grinning at the other girl. ]
Music's my thing. I'm, like, totally punk rock. I mean, this song isn't, but. [ Blink. ] You get the idea.
[ She floats to the ground, propping one hand on her hip. ] You play anything?
no subject
[ Entirely unintimidated. Marceline considers the axe, then raises an eyebrow. ]
Careful, little girl. Wouldn't want to cut yourself on that big, bad axe.
no subject
So you can't, like, change back? Or talk? That's pretty lame. But you're mad adorable like this.

[ She lifts an eyebrow, then starts playing some chord progressions. ] You know it. I've only had, like, a thousand years to perfect my craft.

Just to defeat her notion, she'll twirl the axe effortlessly in one hand. ]

I-I told you! I like, totally wasn't scared! I didn't even know you were a vampire until you told me! Besides I've faced stuff that was like, way scary before this! ...I fought a bear one time.
[It's kind of true. Sort of.]
no subject
M.. me...?
no subject
[He places his hands behind his head as tilts to the side.]
Really? Think I could hear some more if that's the case?
no subject
Of course, when she turns back into a girl, she's ALSO NAKED. Her clothes are still lying abandoned on the pavement. ]
Well I turn back but getting w - OH! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! [ She turns a violent shade of red as she dives for her clothes again. ]
A!
... and tonight, "what's going on in town" appears to be a grey-skinned girl floating in the air while singing a song and playing an... axe? Huh. That's a new one.
He stops to listen, the songwriter side of him curious.]
Did you write that?
no subject
[When Marceline lands Mavis takes a couple steps closer, eyeing the bass with a bright smile when she realizes what it is.]
Oh wicked, your bass is an axe?
